Experience
Alex brings a unique blend of expertise and compassion to our PT team. Before earning her Doctorate, she worked as a surgery technologist in dermatology, where she developed a keen understanding of patient care and the healing process. Her own journey through a shoulder injury ignited her passion for movement as medicine, and catapulted her to a new career in physical therapy.
Throughout her academic training, Alex completed diverse clinical rotations in inpatient rehabilitation, acute care, and outpatient orthopedics. She has a particular interest in neurorehabilitation and geriatrics, recognizing the vital role that personalized care plays in improving patients’ quality of life. Alex is dedicated to interdisciplinary collaboration, acknowledged when she received the UNC Interprofessional Education and Practice Award in 2024. Alex is a two-time recipient of the UNC Carolina Cares Award in 2017 and 2018, honoring her excellence in clinical practice and attention to the unique needs of each individual.
Personal Interests
Alex enjoys cooking, running (especially with her dog, Bailey), swing dancing, and singing. Alex finds joy volunteering at her church and spending quality time with her husband (usually getting into trouble tackling a new home improvement project together).She cherishes every moment spent outdoors or curled up with a good book, finding balance in her life that enhances her ability to care for her patients.
