Experience

She earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Kentucky, where she also completed a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, graduating summa cum laude. During her doctoral training she pursued additional coursework in vestibular rehabilitation and global health, and treated patients through the Samaritan’s Touch pro bono clinic.

Before coming to outpatient care, Asia worked in hospitals across Texas, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky. At Baylor University Medical Center she evaluated and treated cardiopulmonary and surgical patients. She later worked with medically complex stroke, orthopedic, and spinal cord injury patients in Philadelphia. Most recently she provided coverage on trauma and oncology teams at University of Louisville Hospital.

That range means Asia has treated people when they were most fragile, and she brings a hospital clinician’s attention to detail into a setting where she can finally follow a patient through to the end of their recovery. She chose outpatient practice for exactly that reason.

Asia’s approach centers on clear education, shared goal setting, and treatment plans built for the life a patient actually leads. She is direct about what the work will require and honest about how long it takes.

Before physical therapy, Asia competed as a swimmer at the University of Kentucky, where she was a US national champion, a four-time SEC champion, a two-time Olympic Trials qualifier, and a two-time team captain. She was named 2020 NCAA Woman of the Year, the SEC Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete, and the 2019 Arthur Ashe Female Sports Scholar of the Year.

Outside the clinic, Asia hikes and cycles with her husband and is working her way through the coffee shops of Chapel Hill.
