Clara Backus, PT, DPT, GCS
Doctor of Physical Therapy
Experience
My interest in physical therapy was sparked at a young age, watching my grandfather battle back from a massive stroke. His success and quality of life was only possible with the dedication and advocacy of my grandmother. Without realizing it, I was absorbing the recipe for healing: compassion, determination, and trust. I believe that a successful experience with physical therapy is only possible when it is a partnership.
As a Board Certified Specialist in Geriatric Physical Therapy, I have committed my career to helping older adults realize their own potential and maximize their engagement in personally meaningful activities through movement. My advanced training has given me the skills to provide individualized patient- and caregiver-centered care, but I feel my patients teach me the most valuable lessons. On a daily basis, I feel honored to be a part of their journey to recovery and love celebrating their victories alongside them and their family. My clinical interests include treatment of osteoporosis, falls, and dizziness.
